This is an 1863 New Model Remington Army Percussion Revolver in .44 Caliber.  Its in beautiful shape and appears to be a scarcer civilian version as it has a silver plated triggerguard and no military markings on the grips.  7 1/2" octagon barrel, 6 shot cylinder, with safety stops.  Barrel is nicely marked:

Overall condition is NRA Antique Fine with 40% original frame blue with the balance turned to a smooth patina.  Cylinder shows 60% fading blue that is mixing with patina.  The brass triggerguard shows 40% original silver plating that's tarnished to a pewter grey over many years.  The barrel and loading lever have mostly turned to a smooth patina with traces of original blue in protected areas.  Metal is good and smooth overall with generally good screws.  Only noteworthy exception are some dings at the front of the frame where someone banged on it a few times trying to remove the cylinder pin (see photos). The walnut grips still show 75-80% original varnish.  Perfect wood to metal fit with no chips, cracks, or repairs.  Action works smoothly with the...almost effortlessly as the mainspring is a little light (if desired, this could easily be stiffened up by adjusting the tension screw located on the outside of the front strap). Bore looks good but could use a good cleaning.  All in all, a nice example of Remington New Army.
